There is nothing wrong with cultivated blueberries, but nothing beats the taste and color of blueberries picked wild in the bush. I still remember the days my parents took me blueberry picking as a child. Now I bring my children to the forest to pick the same low bush blueberries that I picked as a kid.

Now if you have not had the chance to pick blueberries in the wild, visit your local farmers market and buy some of natures wonders filled with vitamins A, C and E, calcium, magnesium and antioxidants; wild blueberry season is right now.

There are many ways to cook blueberries. For me, simple is often best and little hands are your best helpers. And for me it doesn’t matter where they were picked, the smell of fresh blueberry crepes brings me back to my cabin in the forest.
