Last Sunday I visited a Norwegian friend in the Toronto area and we went for a hike and sledding trip. On the trip she served us tasty horns filled with ham and cheese. So yummy! Next time we go for an outdoor adventure we are going make these treats before we hit the trail. These horns are very fun and easy to make with your kids.

This is what you need to make 24 horns

1 ¾ stick (200 grams) butter

2 ½ cups (6dl) milk

3 tsp (8ml) dried yeast

2 tsp salt

4 tbsp sugar

2.2 lbs (1kg) flour

Grated cheese

Chopped ham

1 egg

Sesame seeds

Mix flour and sugar together. Combine the melted butter and milk heating it till it is 98°F (37°C). Add yeast and sit for 10 minutes to activate.

Combine flour and liquid together; knead the dough well.

Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to a flat circle around ? inch thick. Cut dough like a pizza making 8 triangles.Add 2 teaspoons of chopped ham and cheese toward the bottom of each triangle and roll up toward the point.

Place them on a greased baking pan and let rise for 20 minutes. Mix egg in a small bowl and lightly brush egg mixture on your rolls. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Place in middle rack and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12 – 15 minutes until golden brown.
