Dressing for the weather is the key to enjoying the outdoors in all kinds of weather. Summer is time we have been longing for; shorts, swimsuits and dresses. However, remember they often don`t provide your child any protection from the sun.

So when you are going to the park for an extended period of time it is a good idea to dress your child in protective clothing. Comfortable long pants, long-sleeved shirts and broad- brimmed hats offer excellent protection against the sun. Another good idea is to dress in darker colors, darker colors offer more protection against the sun.

2) Wool
3) Colored denim
You might also want to consider investing clothing that utilizes new high tech fabrics.
Full body swimsuits for children are almost a must. New fabrics for swimsuits are made of tightly woven polyester and treated with a chemical sun block during the manufacturing process.
They also use colors that provide the best protection against the sun.
These new swimsuits are often designed to cover the body as much as possible.

Don’t forget sunglasses for your child

This is not just about being cool, it is important to protect their eyes against UVA and UVB. These rays can cause, or speed up the progress of

several diseases that affect the eye or its supporting structures. When you are at the store and looking for sunglasses look at the label , The label will tell you how much they will protect the eyes from the suns UV rays.

Put suncreeen on
Pick a sunscreen minimum SPF (sun protection factor) 15 with zinc or titanium dioxide in it. These ingredients both have broad-spectrum UV coverage. For children under 6 months – try and keep them out of the sun as much as possible as they have not yet developed the melanin (skin pigment) which protects the skin.
