We had a great time at the Insects on the Prairie class at River Bend Nature Center. It was supposed to be a larger playgroup, but due to the heat index being into triple digits, most families opted to stay inside. But we didn’t we ventured out with our water & bug spray and met up with another family who was brave. Actually, this was a public class and no one besides our two families came, so it turned out to be our own private class.
We learned the proper technique for catching bugs, which was helpful. We had been doing it all wrong. We learned so much about all kinds of insects and got to pick up, touch, catch & release SOOOOOOO many. We even somehow caught a tree frog, which they said catching them is very difficult. Not sure how we did it, but we did.
Great class and even though we had low attendance, we had fun with just our two families.
