I got a front mounted child seat on a new bike as a birthday present four years ago from my husband. It was a gift that gave me freedom and fresh air in both of our faces making it easy for me to travel from A to B with the little one. My baby loved to sit in the front of the bike on trips in the city.
I loved to have her in the front so I could see her and talk to her while we where riding around in the city. I used it so much that I basically wore it out and need to look for a new seat and a new bike for my next child.
There are quite a few options out there for front mounted child bike seats.

This was our first bike seat for our daughter. We both loved the configuration. She even became so comfortable in it that she would fall asleep in the seat. My only complaints were that the straps were not that well built, and the knee clearance was lacking for me.
I like the looks of the iBert bike seat. It looks comfortable for the baby and the knee clearance looks great for the adult. I also like their straps. I also like that IBert is made in the US.
