We missed playgroup this week because the baby still had a fever and was fussy from getting her immunizations the day before. So this afternoon the kids and I went outside and built our house. I told them we were building it for a butterfly. I assembled the stones and they did the rest. My kids are only 5 (in a few weeks) and 2 1/2 so their skills are limited. But it still made them think. My son put a pillow and blanket inside made from leaves. He put an acorn top as a cup of water for the butterfly to drink. He came up with those things on his own. When we were done a butterfly came by and the kids tried their best to entice the butterfly into the house we built, but it didn’t care. I think it would be nice to build these houses in different seasons.
