We like to use nature as our playground, but when we want to go to an actual playground, this one is our favorite- it’s the playground on Cambridge Common just outside of Harvard Square. We don’t get there a lot because it is far away, but it’s a great one- my favorite! It’s different from your average playground with its nontraditional structures which are made of wood- a lot (or all of it, I can’t remember) comes from trees that had to be cut down in other parts of the town. It also has formed hills and a small labyrinth which gives the playground a nice landscape.
We were lucky enough to get there today and the boys played for three hours! It would have been more if I didn’t have to drag them out. There was also a man who brought his son to the playground and watched him play as he set up his guitar and a mic and quietly played a nice mix of children’s song and child friendly songs. It was a blustery but warm day and we had a great time. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood! The pictures don’t do it justice.
